Dunn-Edwards and Lamps Plus Collab Forms The Perfect Pairing

Design Trends

Some things in life just naturally go together, like peanut butter and jelly or tools and a toolbelt, and now Dunn-Edwards Paints and Lamps Plus as Sara McLean, Dunn-Edwards’ Color Expert & Stylist, and John Barnes, Lamps Plus’ Design Editor, explain in the new video below.

We first announced our partnership with Lamps Plus this past fall, offering a new collection of Color Plus™ lamps and Art Shade lamp shades in five hues from Dunn-Edwards’ 2021 color + design Trends Report, and available in nine complementary lamp base shapes.

As people spend more and more time at home, it’s important to surround themselves with color and design that create positive, comforting spaces. Items like the Color Plus™ lamps, with their warm natural shades and classic shapes, help evoke those emotions.

The lamps have made their way into the homes of creatives like animator and photographer Tom Windeknecht and Food personality and founder of The Kitchy Kitchen Claire Thomas.

The last time we caught up with Windeknecht, he was repainting his Yucca Valley, California home, doing up his walls in clean, crisp neutral Sugar Swizzle (DEHW07) to serve as a background to his colorful artwork and furniture. In his bedroom, Windeknecht’s Wexler table lamp in Rustique (DE5149) adds a glossy pop of this happy hue to his achromatic color scheme. This Rustique lamp also adds a complimentary color to the vibrant palette in the home’s living space, with the lamp’s wooden neck perfectly mimicking the same wood tones from the home’s interior trim.

Like Windeknecht, Claire Thomas is no stranger to bold colored furniture and neutral-toned walls. Thomas’ sleek Peggy Glass lamp in Burnt Almond (DE5258) plays nicely with the room’s burnt orange painted shapes, ochre sofa, and glam gold coffee table. The room’s 1970’s vibe is complete.
